## When and where was Ambiente 2026?

**Ambiente 2026 ran February 6–10, 2026, at Messe Frankfurt in Frankfurt, Germany, together with Christmasworld and Creativeworld.** It is a trade-only consumer goods fair. Paperworld no longer runs as its own Frankfurt fair: since 2023, its stationery has been shown in Ambiente's Working (office and business) and Giving (consumer and school) areas.

Messe Frankfurt's final report counts 4,636 exhibitors from 170 nations across the three fairs. Visitor numbers differ by source: Messe Frankfurt's facts sheet gives 105,291 before audit and 95,503 as audited by FKM. We use the audited figure.

## When and where was ISOT 2026?

**ISOT 2026, the 37th International Stationery & Office Products Fair, ran June 24–26, 2026, at Tokyo Big Sight.** RX Japan organizes it and bills it as Asia's largest stationery trade fair. It is trade-only.

RX Japan's 2026 size figures weren't available in the sources we found. For 2023, JETRO lists about 1,000 exhibitors (about 500 from abroad) and about 40,000 visitors. ## When and where was the China Stationery Fair 2026?

**The 120th China Stationery Fair ran June 26–28, 2026, at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre, alongside the 27th CHN Gift Expo.** Gaobaiying Exhibition (Shanghai) organizes it with support from the China General Chamber of Commerce, and it is trade-only. The fair is in its 73rd year.

Pre-show estimates put it at more than 1,000 exhibitors. The same preview gives conflicting visitor counts (30,000+ and 45,000) and floor areas (80,500 and 92,000 m², or about 866,000 and 990,000 sq ft), so we report both.

## When and where was the DC Pen Supershow 2026?

**The Washington DC Fountain Pen Supershow ran August 6–9, 2026, at the Marriott Fairview Park in Falls Church, Virginia.** It was the show's 35th year, and it bills itself as the largest fountain pen show in the world. It is open to the public.

Co-directors Barbara Johnson and Jeff Hancock projected about 2,500 attendees and 215 vendors from 15 countries at more than 375 tables. The ticket page lists August 7–9, which appears to be the public days of the four-day run.

## When is the Tokyo International Pen Show 2026?

**The Tokyo International Pen Show 2026 runs November 21–23, 2026, on floors 3 to 5 of the Tokyo Metropolitan Industrial Trade Center's Hamamatsucho building.** It is the only one of our five still to come as of October 20, 2026, and it is open to the public.

The venue is about a five-minute walk from Hamamatsucho Station. The organizer says hours may change, and its press releases describe different ticket types, so check the official site before buying. If you know Japanese pens mainly from US shelves, like the [Pilot G2](https://stationerytimes.com/guides/pilot-g2/), this is the public show in their makers' home city.

## Which other events are worth knowing about?

**Paperworld China and the London Stationery Show just missed our top five.**

- **Paperworld China:** November 20–22, 2026, at the Shanghai World Expo Exhibition & Convention Center, run by Messe Frankfurt (Shanghai). JETRO lists 345 exhibitors in 2025.
- **London Stationery Show:** May 12–13, 2026, at the Business Design Centre.
- **Paperworld Middle East:** the 2026 edition was postponed to September 28–30, 2027.
- **Insights-X:** the Nuremberg stationery fair was discontinued in March 2024.

## Which events have announced 2027 dates?

**Only Ambiente has official 2027 dates: January 29 to February 2, 2027, in Frankfurt.** Aggregators list ISOT 2027 for June 9–11, 2027, but RX Japan has not yet confirmed them. The China Stationery Fair, DC Pen Supershow and Tokyo International Pen Show have not announced 2027 dates in the sources we found. We will update this page when they do.

## How do you choose which event to attend?

**Go to a pen show if you want to buy and try pens; go to a trade fair only if you buy or sell stationery for a business.**

- **Trade or public:** Ambiente, ISOT and the China Stationery Fair admit trade visitors only. The DC and Tokyo shows sell tickets to anyone.
- **Timing:** ISOT and the China Stationery Fair overlap on June 26, so trade buyers covering Asia usually pick one or plan a tight trip.
- **What you want:** buying and trying pens from many vendors at DC or Tokyo; meeting suppliers and seeing new ranges at the trade fairs.
